In New York City, Zowie is a first time novelist is thrust into the throes of grief when she loses her sister, Lida, and with that, she loses her own gravity. Now every time she falls down time and space bend, allowing her to see her sister again. Trouble is, next time she falls: poof! Her sister is gone. Lida is a force of nature and when she is there attempts, in her plucky, bullying way to get Zowie back on her feet and back into the workplace. Only now the only “novel” Zowie can manage is a children’s book about a girl whose superpower is falling down. That no on wants to publish. Frustrated, depleted and caught between mourning and reality, Zowie has a decision to make: move on or sink into the past for good. Luckily, a childhood song about elephants reminds her that like the pachyderms themselves, she never has to forget her past to be present in her now. So, in a whiskey fueled dream she has one last fall, this time on purpose, this time: back into her own life. You know what they say, it’s not how many times you fall, it’s how many times you get back up.
